The is an opportunity to try before you buy. You may take a single trial class. This is a regular class with regularly scheduled curriculum. You are not required to pay the registration fee to take this class. If you register for classes beginning the week following your trial, we will apply $10 towards your registration fee. NOTE: class for Wednesday, February 27th will be held on Monday February 25th from 7 to 8pm.

INTRODUCTION TO ACTING. This class is designed for anyone interested in learning more about the art of acting. We will cover the basics from stage directions to script analysis. We will talk about the different elements of building a character and how to use those elements both in scene and monologue performance.

Artistic inspiration comes in all forms. This class aims to channel creative inspiration through crafty mediums such as yarn, perler beads, jewelry, clay. Each session will learn basic crochet stitches, create a perler masterpiece, make their own wearable art, and mold something completely unique out of a messy lump. We split our time between the regimented routine of crochet and the free form expression of playing with color and form.

We will work on skills including:

-shape/form
-project completion

PERFORMANCE 101
Presence, posture, speech, articulation, and adaptability are just a few of the skills we can hone and cultivate through performance practice. This class is designed to combine technique, script analysis, and the theatrical process in order to develop confidence, empathy, and situational awareness. Classes will start with an introduction to a basic theatrical concept (i.e. memorization, script analysis, stage direction, etc.) to provide a solid base, followed by the students working through their performances for the class in a supportive environment. Each month, we will break down a monologue or scene before putting it on its feet for a final performance.

We will address questions such as:
“What do I do with my hands?”
“What’s the difference between stage left and house left?”
“How do I embody a character?”
“When do I move?”

This four week beginner group class will take you step by step through acrylic painting: Explanation of materials. Acrylic Painting Techniques. Choosing the right reference images. Keeping it legal by avoiding copyright infringement. What makes an interesting composition. Drawing and transferring your image. You will finish with a simple painting or two. Student work pictured.

SMALL GROUP. Requires 2 or more students for class to begin. Learn the foundations of beginning drumming. Drummers will be exposed to the essentials including Beats, Rhythm and Timing, Technique and more. Participants are required to have their own drum pad and sticks to practice at home.
