PERFORMANCE 101
Presence, posture, speech, articulation, and adaptability are just a few of the skills we can hone and cultivate through performance practice. This class is designed to combine technique, script analysis, and the theatrical process in order to develop confidence, empathy, and situational awareness. Classes will start with an introduction to a basic theatrical concept (i.e. memorization, script analysis, stage direction, etc.) to provide a solid base, followed by the students working through their performances for the class in a supportive environment. Each month, we will break down a monologue or scene before putting it on its feet for a final performance.

We will address questions such as:
“What do I do with my hands?”
“What’s the difference between stage left and house left?”
“How do I embody a character?”
“When do I move?”
